Vitamins for fatigue and exhaustion

Prepared by the LekCheck team · Last reviewed: 2026-06-29 · How we create our content

Fatigue is most often due to sleep, stress, overload or an underlying condition, not necessarily a vitamin deficiency. Some ingredients are sought to support energy, but supplements only help with a real shortage. Below are the commonly discussed ingredients; choose one to compare products and prices. For prolonged fatigue, look for the cause with a doctor.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is involved in nerve function and blood formation. A deficiency can cause fatigue, but it is established with a test — a supplement "by default" is not needed for everyone.

Magnesium and iron

Magnesium (often with vitamin B6) is sought for fatigue and muscle cramps, and iron only for a proven iron deficiency. Taking iron without need can be harmful, so a test before starting matters.

When to see a doctor

See a doctor for prolonged or severe fatigue, breathlessness, weight loss, mood changes, disturbed sleep, or if the fatigue interferes with daily life — to rule out anaemia, thyroid disease and other causes.
